IconLover is a relatively new entry into the family of Aha-Soft icon management tools. This utility allows users extract icons form any files, create and manage icon collections and icon libraries. IconLover is a perfect solution for extracting, cataloguing and managing Windows icons. The program can quickly and efficiently scan folders or entire drives for files that can contain icon images (a variety of formats including .ico, .cur, .ani, .exe, .icl, .dll, .scr, .il, .nil, .ocx, .vbx, .dpl and .bpl are supported). Once the images are found, they can be extracted and arranged in libraries. Once you create the libraries, you can manipulate them in different ways: export individual icons to Windows icon and Windows bitmap formats, rearrange icons within the library, export multiple icons to a single image file, automatically delete duplicate icons, split libraries into individual icon files and more. IconLover can also import into collections raster and vector images (BMP, JPEG, PNG, GIF and WMF formats are currently supported) in sizes up to 255x255 pixels.
In addition to this, IconLover features the ability to customize Windows icons that cannot be changed using the standard Windows tools. This feature enables users to change or colorize the default icons that Windows uses to display various system objects (My Computer, Recycle Bin, Internet, Start menu items, drives, shortcut and sharing overlays, system folders etc) and also change the desktop icons size and color resolution without altering the monitor settings.
